Just as Proust's madeleine did to him, the scent of "real church incense" takes me back to St. Mary's when I was 3 years old with my parents and grandmother at Benediction. The sweet yet pungent aroma of the incense they burned was intoxicating. I have smelled it again at High Masses, funerals, and other rites where incense is used. So when I began to search for "real church incense" a few months ago, I thought I'd Google it and it would appear on dozens of websites as the "standard" real thing. I could not have been more wrong. Then I found Trinity's Forest Blend and it was closer to the "real" incense I know than any other I had experienced. It isn't exactly the same, but it's as close as I've come. I must start calling around to area churches to ask what brand of incense they use, and continue my search. But until, if ever, I find the "real" thing, Forest Blend is my go-to choice. Not perfect, but then again, what is? I recommend it highly.
This is THE incense for my church. After searching and sampling about 20 different blends, we've found this on, and its a keeper!
