This interesting tabernacle design comes from Molina of Spain. The tabernacle is made from solid brass plates and features on its door a pelican feeding her young. The symbolism is rooted in an ancient legend of a mother pelican who, during a time of famine, wounded herself so that she could feed her dying young with her own blood to revive them. She, in turn, lost her own life. It is certainly easy to see how this image could serve as a source of inspiration, reminding us of Our Lord's sacrifice as we sit before the tabernacle that holds the Blessed Sacrament.
The tabernacle stands thirteen inches high, fourteen inches wide and 9-1/2 inches deep. The single door opening measures ten by thirteen inches. It is fitted with a lock and comes with two keys. Order this unique tabernacle from the F.C. Ziegler Company in a brass or two-tone finish.
