Saint Francis is the patron saint of animals, rendered here with a deer and bird. His Franciscan garb is expertly rendered, down to the folds of his robes and his rosary beads. Saint Francis was so inspired to preach the Word of God that he was known to have gone out to share the Word with animals. He is also the patron saint of ecologists and merchants. His feast day is celebrated on October 4. This statue is made of resin and painted to look like stone. It stands 36-1/2 inches high, 16-1/2 inches wide, and 13-1/2 inches deep.

Prayer of Saint Francis for Peace
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace:
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.
O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen.
