Traditionally remembered as the first king to arrive to revere Jesus, bearing his gift of gold, Gaspar kneels before the Christ Child. Said to hail from Tarsus, the elderly gentleman appears in all his finery. Despite his finely ornamented robes, and the value of the beautiful vessel he carries, he is humble, the demeanor he takes and expression on his face one of adoration.
