This wall Crucifix features a Corpus designed in the style of Cimabue, a thirteenth-century artist. Cimabue was renowned as one of the first to break from the medieval Byzantine style of his day, depicting Christ upon the cross more realistically, that is, in His suffering. The Christ figure is attached to a wood cross with a mahogany finish that is inlaid with brass. At the top of the cross, the traditional scroll, marked INRI, proclaims Christ as King of the Jews. This Crucifix, one of our Italian imports, measures fifteen inches, sure to inspire wherever it is displayed.
