This chalice is an accurate replica of the original, twelfth century Saint Remy chalice housed in the Cathedral of Reims, in France. The artisans of Artistic Silver have recreated the chalice using the same techniques as the great medieval silversmiths and plated it with the most modern methods to assure authenticity as well as durability.
Completely hand-made from sterling silver with a twenty-four karat gold plate finish, the outer cup and base are hand chased. The chalice stands 7-3/8 inches high with a cup diameter of 5-1/4 inches and an eighteen-ounce capacity. The open arch design features thirty-two genuine stones, including amethyst, lapis lazuli, green aventurine and garnets. Fire enameled cloissoné art adds further adornment to this breathtaking piece which The F.C. Ziegler Company makes available to you from Molina, in Spain. This chalice comes with a seven-inch paten. A partially hand-made option is also available; some of the detailing is applied with a mold and then finished by hand.
